In Japan, 1 in 3 marriages end in divorce, with lack of sex-related communication being a major cause. In a survey, 81.4% of people reported having never discussed sexual preferences with their partners, and 63.1% of women reported that they had “engaged in sexual activity even if not in the mood.” Using a proprietary algorithm, 13 sexual lifestyles have been classified. This research aims to gain new insight by correlating atmospheric pressure with worries such as ‘presence/absence of pain,’ sex drive fluctuations,’ and ‘physical/mental postpartum changes,’ etc. This hypothesis, created in cooperation with OB/GYNs, will be verified with users’ records of menstrual cycles and sexual function. While typical counseling is reactive, “tawagram” encourages a proactive approach through natural communication between couples by determining individuals’ sexual preferences early and combining that with lifestyle and health data. From interviews with over 2,000 individuals, it was discovered that many women give up on their needs, expressing that they are “grateful just to have a partner.” The founder's own experience of anxiety in being unable to express her desire for contraceptives helped her understand the importance of improving self-esteem and proactively building relationships. The goal is to use personal data to promote healthier sexual communication and relationships.
