Realizing autonomous driving for micromobility and robots through a novel approach of outsourcing autonomous driving functions

The importance of small-scale mobility and robots is growing as we strive to achieve a decarbonized society and solve last-mile transportation challenges.
However, their small size makes them prone to blind spots, and challenges exist such as mutual interference when operating multiple units.
Equipping robots with rich sensor arrays to solve these issues increases the per-unit introduction cost, hindering widespread adoption.
Our company adopts a novel approach: leveraging spatial data obtained in real-time from infrastructure-installed sensors for autonomous operation. Our research focuses on achieving processing speeds sufficient for deployment in environments like factories and warehouses, where high-speed moving objects exist, and developing practical technologies for implementation.
